Walking
Due to its variety of cliffs, beaches, coves, villages and towns and its green nature, this region is ideal for walks. Close by you can walk to São Martinho via a footpath that winds through the dunes, up from the old town of São Martinho and along a path to Salgado beach and as far as Nazaré. Via the Miradouro of Salir do Porto you can go to the cliffs from where you can walk as far as Foz de Arelho. Also around the laguna of Óbidos you can make nice flat walks. Cycling
Cycling in the neighbourhood is doable. There are few cycle paths, but the secondary roads are easy to ride on and low in trafic. Very special is cycling around the lagoon of Óbidos. For cycling rentals you can go to Bikerent Silvercoast in Foz do Arelho. (https://bikerent-silvercoast.com/verhuur)
Golf
There are several golf courses a short distance from the villa. At Obidos, Praia d’El Rey and Bom Sucesso you will find 18 hole courses.

Mountain biking
Mountain biking is possible on various paths and roads in the area. Fervent mountain bikers can enjoy themselves in the Centros De BTT Batalha / Pia Do Urso located in the Serra d’Aire e Candeeiros natural park at about 45 minutes drive from Salir do Porto. There are 265 km of signposted trails of varying levels of difficulty in the park.

Surfing and sailing
At the sailing school Escola de Vela da Lagoa, on the Lagoon of Obidos, you can learn kitesurfing, sailing and windsurfing. (https://escoladeveladalagoa.com)

Kayaking

Water parks
The sea and the beach are always within reach, but a water park can also be attractive, especially for children. In the region there are in Peniche, Nazaré, Vieira de Leiria, and at the exit of the Grutas Mira d’Aire in the Serra de Aire e de Candeeiros.

Dino Parque Lourinhã
This fairly new park is definitely worth a visit with children. You can see more than 120 life-size replicas of dinosaurs. It is no coincidence that this park was built here. All kinds of dinosaur fossils have been found in the region. You can see them in the museum before you visit the park. For the youngest there is a playground where they can dig up fossils in the sand. Older children can cut out a skeleton or fossil from a block. http://www.dinoparque.pt
Dino Buddha Eden garden
On an area of about 35 hectares, Bacalhôa Buddha Eden brings together the world of Buddhism and modern art. In this sculpture garden you will find complete peace and quiet while you get acquainted with oriental and contemporary culture and art. Bacalhôa Buddha Eden is an ideal destination when you want to take a break after a busy day. You can explore the garden at your own pace or take the little train that takes you past the most beautiful works of art.

In the villa there are various board games for young and old.

For wine lovers, the Rota do Vinho do Oeste can be followed. It leads you around the three core areas, Obidos, Torres Vedras and Alenquer of the DOC Lisboa. The region is also particularly popular with motorcyclists because of the beautiful rides on the cliffs with gorgeous views of the coastline and ocean. Inland, too, magnificent rides can be made through the diverse, green and hilly to mountainous landscape.
